Warmly Held: 2026 Spring Festival Garden Party for International Students

Time:2026-02-15

To celebrate the Spring Festival and help international students gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and experience the festive atmosphere, the 2026 Leshan Vocational and Technical College Spring Festival Garden Party for International Students with the theme “Welcoming Spring from Afar, Painting a Splendid Future Together” was warmly held on February 13 in Room 3004 of the Academic Exchange Center, organized by the Youth League Committee of the college.

Liu Zhong, President of the college; Zhang Xuehe and Zhou Qin, Members of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents, gathered joyfully with international students from many countries to welcome the upcoming Year of the Horse.

At the beginning of the event, President Liu Zhong extended sincere Spring Festival greetings to all international students. He noted that the Spring Festival is a precious occasion for family reunion in Chinese culture, and he hoped everyone would enjoy happiness and friendship while experiencing traditional Chinese customs.

Subsequently, the garden party officially kicked off amid warm applause.

The event was held in the form of a stamp-collecting challenge, with various interactive experience zones including:

  • Writing “Fu” characters

  • Paper-cutting for window decorations

  • Lantern riddles

  • Pitch-pot game

  • Marble-pinching game

There were also traditional food stalls serving sugar paintings and cotton candy, allowing international students to immerse themselves in the cultural charm of the Chinese New Year through hands‑on activities. A photo wall and a wish wall were specially arranged, where students stopped to take photos and write down their best wishes for the new year.

The dumpling-making session became one of the highlights of the event.

Under guidance, international students made dumplings by themselves, experiencing the important Chinese food culture that symbolizes reunion and blessing. When the freshly cooked hot dumplings were served, everyone tasted the fruits of their labor and deepened their understanding and recognition of Chinese New Year traditions.

This activity not only brought a strong festive atmosphere to international students in a foreign country and eased their homesickness, but also conveyed the warmth and care of the college family. It served as a vivid classroom for them to experience China and better integrate into campus life.
