In the golden autumn of October, sweet osmanthus blooms everywhere. On the morning of October 27, the Opening Ceremony for 2025 International Students of Leshan Vocational and Technical College, themed “Together by Qingjiang, for a Shared Future”, was solemnly held in Room 3004 of the Academic Exchange Center.
In 2025, the college enrolled a total of 86 international students (including exchange students) from 9 countries, including Tajikistan, Cambodia and Viet Nam. They are admitted to 10 majors, such as Tourism Management, E-Commerce, and Artificial Intelligence Technology.
Liu Zhong, President of the college; Zhang Xuehe and Zhou Qin, Members of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents; as well as leading members of relevant functional departments and secondary colleges, teacher representatives and counselors attended the ceremony. The event was presided over by Vice President Zhang Xuehe.
The opening ceremony began in a solemn and warm atmosphere. In his warm speech, President Liu Zhong introduced the profound cultural heritage and high-quality educational resources of Leshan to the new international students. He also put forward three expectations for their growth and development:
Abide by the school motto of “Integrity, Ambition, Truth-Seeking and Innovation”, cultivate moral character and strengthen willpower;
Devote themselves to academic studies and professional skills, strive to become experts in their fields, and lay a solid foundation for future career development;
Take the initiative to integrate into campus life and promote exchanges, bridge cultural and linguistic gaps, become witnesses and communicators of China’s stories, and serve as young ambassadors for promoting cultural exchanges and friendship between China and other countries.
Tang Jing, a teacher representative from the College of General Education, combined her teaching experience to offer practical advice on study and life, expressing full support and care from all teachers.
Ah Heng, a continuing student representative from Laos, shared his gains and experiences of studying and living at Leshan Vocational and Technical College, providing useful reference for the new students.
Xiao Ping, a freshman representative majoring in Tourism Management, expressed his expectations for future studies and his determination to strive for excellence.
During the ceremony, President Liu Zhong presented souvenirs to student representatives, symbolizing that they have officially become members of the Leshan Vocational and Technical College family. Leaders of relevant secondary colleges also met and communicated with the new students.
In recent years, Leshan Vocational and Technical College has continuously promoted the process of international education and improved the level of educational opening-up, attracting more and more international students to pursue further studies here. The enrollment of this cohort of international students will further enrich the cultural diversity of the campus and inject new vitality into the high-quality development of the college.
