On the afternoon of March 10, the Opening Work Meeting for International Students for the Spring Semester of 2026 was held in Conference Room 324 of the Administrative Building. Vice President Zhou Qin attended the meeting and delivered a concluding speech. Relevant administrative departments, heads of secondary colleges, and international student management staff participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, various administrative departments reported on their work plans for the new semester. Secondary colleges and administrative departments conducted on-site communications regarding teaching coordination and student management. Zhang Jingjing, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, outlined relevant work arrangements, emphasizing the principle of "assimilation-based" management. She stressed the importance of recognizing differences while seeking common ground. While strictly adhering to regulations on visas and safety, it is also necessary to respect the cultural differences of international students. She expressed hope that activities such as the Sino-Foreign Cultural Festival and "Experience China" would enable international students to gain a more comprehensive and multi-dimensional understanding of China, helping them share authentic Chinese stories.
In her concluding speech, Zhou Qin noted that international student education is a vital component of the college's internationalization strategy and must be prioritized and effectively implemented. She fully acknowledged the preparatory work conducted by all departments and the effectiveness of the meeting's discussions. She put forward three requirements for the new semester: First, to strengthen collaboration and coordination, with the International Cooperation and Exchange Office taking the lead and all colleges and departments working closely together to establish a framework for joint management; Second, to maintain a firm bottom line on safety, strictly adhering to regulations on foreign-related affairs and ideological work requirements to ensure orderly and stable management of international students; Third, to enhance the quality of education, focusing on student development by providing targeted support in academic assistance, cultural integration, further studies, and employment, ensuring that international students genuinely benefit from their studies and feel a sense of belonging.
Zhou Qin emphasized that all staff should take this meeting as a starting point, adopting a broader vision and a more pragmatic approach to promote the high-quality development of international student affairs, contributing to the college's goal of becoming a vocational institution with distinctive international characteristics.
This meeting unified thinking, clarified tasks, and laid a solid foundation for international student work in the new semester.
