On October 15, Ion Doru Duncas, Mayor of Baia Mare, Romania, led an 11-member delegation to visit and exchange views with Leshan Vocational and Technical College. The visit was accompanied by Li Jianlun, District Mayor of Shizhong District of Leshan, as well as officials from Leshan Bureau of Economic Cooperation and Foreign Affairs, Emeishan Bureau of Commerce, Economic Cooperation and Foreign Affairs, and other relevant departments. Cheng Dingbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Zhou Qin, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, and the International Cooperation Office received the delegation throughout the visit.
The delegation first visited the Qingjiang Wushu Base, where they watched martial arts routines, Sanda combat and lion dance performances. Foreign guests showed great interest in the traditional Chinese martial arts featuring both hardness and softness and the lively and festive lion dance culture. They stopped to appreciate and take photos from time to time, and praised the superb skills of teachers and students.
Afterwards, the delegation visited JD Digital Business Industry College, where they learned in detail about the curriculum design and talent training mode of the college in emerging fields such as cross-border e-commerce and live streaming. Watching students operate proficiently in a simulated practical environment, Ion Doru Duncas spoke highly of the college’s teaching mode that keeps pace with industrial development trends and focuses on practical skills training.
At the Robotics and Intelligent Control Training Center in Training Factory No. 4, the delegation visited demonstrations of advanced industrial robot equipment and intelligent control systems, and were deeply impressed by the college’s cutting-edge teaching facilities and applied talent training capacity in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
Finally, the delegation arrived at the Medical and Nursing Training Building, visiting the high-standard Red Cross Emergency First Aid Training Center and well-equipped nursing training rooms. The standardized operation procedures, realistic simulation environment and students’ skillful demonstrations won repeated praise from the foreign guests.
During the visit, Ion Doru Duncas stated on many occasions that Leshan Vocational and Technical College’s solid investment in vocational education, distinctive major development and industry-oriented school-running model were impressive. He believed that this visit provided a valuable window for Baia Mare to understand the development level and successful experience of China’s vocational education.
Cheng Dingbin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, warmly welcomed the delegation. He pointed out that this exchange was a vivid reflection of the friendly exchanges between Leshan and Baia Mare. It was hoped that vocational education would serve as a bridge to further deepen practical cooperation between the two sides in talent training, technical training, cultural exchanges and other fields, so as to contribute to consolidating and developing the friendship between the two cities and even between the Chinese and Romanian peoples.
This visit not only effectively showcased the characteristics and achievements of China’s vocational education, but also opened a new chapter for the future friendly cooperation between Leshan and Baia Mare, laying a solid foundation for further expanding international exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
