On October 30, the 26th China Annual Conference on International Education was held in Beijing. Zhou Qin, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Leshan Vocational and Technical College, attended the event on behalf of the college. At the parallel forum “Meeting China: International Symposium on High-Quality Development of Education for International Students in China”, she was awarded the certification plaque by Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange.
The college has officially passed the Quality Certification Standards for Higher Vocational Education for International Students in China, with an evaluation grade of B and a validity period of 6 years.
Under the theme “Education for a Global Vision”, the annual conference attracted educational representatives from more than 70 countries and regions around the world. In his opening speech, Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education, emphasized that China will continue to expand high-level opening-up in education and further advance international cooperation in vocational education and other fields. Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange, presided over the opening ceremony and participated in a series of awarding ceremonies. The award to our college represents high recognition from the industry of the management and operation of international student education.
The certification comprehensively evaluated the college’s international student education in terms of teaching resources, management system, support services and other dimensions. The college has built a training model featuring “Major Empowerment + Cultural Empowerment”, offering distinctive majors including Nursing, Culture and Tourism, New Energy, etc., with a bilingual teaching team. It has also carried out cultural experience activities such as Sichuan Opera Face Changing and Emei Martial Arts.
In total, the college has educated nearly 1,000 international students from countries along the Belt and Road, some of whom have become bridges for technological and cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
Taking the certification as a new starting point, the college will deepen international cooperation. Vice President Zhou Qin stated:“This certification is an important milestone in the internationalization of our college. We will take this opportunity to optimize the training program for international students, expand cooperation with institutions along the Belt and Road, and enhance the influence of the ‘Study in Leshan’ brand.”
